1969 Plymouth Road Runner – Show Quality, High-Performance Mopar
For sale is an exceptional 1969 Plymouth Road Runner that has been meticulously restored and continuously refined into a true street and show machine. Originally purchased in Stevensville, Maryland in 1999 and transported to Bakersfield, California, this Road Runner underwent an extensive restoration from 2000–2003 and has been upgraded ever since.
Power comes from a professionally built 440 cubic-inch V8 by MIKEDS in Denver, Colorado. The engine features a .030 overbore with JEGS plasma moly rings, Crower solid lifter full-race camshaft, roller rockers, ported and polished 67 closed-chamber heads with a five-angle valve job, forged JEGS Speed Pro pistons and rods, and a stout 12:1 compression ratio.
Backing the big block is a built-up 727 Torqueflite automatic transmission with a 3,500 RPM torque converter, B&M shift kit, and B&M Mega Shifter. Power is sent through an 8¾-inch Sure Grip rear end with 4.10 gears, delivering impressive acceleration and performance.
The induction system features dual Edelbrock Performer 600 CFM carburetors on an Edelbrock high-rise intake manifold, fed by a Holley Red electric fuel pump. Ignition is handled by an MSD 6-Series system with MSD distributor and Blaster 2 coil.
Exhaust consists of Doug Thorley headers, dual 3-inch exhaust, Flowmaster single-chamber mufflers, and an X-pipe, producing the unmistakable sound of a classic Mopar muscle car.
