The gasoline 2024 Ram ProMaster uses a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 and a TorqueFlite nine-speed automatic transmission, with front-wheel drive. Ram publishes 276 horsepower and 250 lb-ft for that powertrain. The earlier references on this page to a 6.4-liter V6 and an eight-speed transmission were incorrect.

High Roof is not a complete specification
A useful van comparison also identifies wheelbase, body length, rear-door arrangement, seating and installed equipment. A 3500 badge and a high roof do not establish the exact cargo volume or usable payload. Ask for the VIN and the complete configuration, then measure the actual load opening and interior space needed for your work.
Bring the dimensions of the largest equipment you carry and describe how it is loaded. A high interior ceiling does not guarantee clearance through a particular door or underneath a parking structure. Check the finished exterior height after roof equipment has been added.
Do not assign lineup maximums to this van
Ram's published maximum payload and towing figures apply to named configurations. They are not blanket ratings for every High Roof 3500. Shelving, partitions, tools, passengers and other installed equipment affect the remaining capacity. Use the applicable vehicle labels, manufacturer's instructions and actual loaded weights when selecting a van for your business.
Compare the required load with axle and tire limits as well as the vehicle's total rating. An empty cargo-space photograph does not show how much capacity remains after the conversion is completed.
Verify equipment rather than assuming it is standard
Confirm the installed driver-assistance systems, cameras, infotainment and door equipment on the vehicle record. Features offered elsewhere in the lineup should not be described as standard on every van. Demonstrate the actual controls and review operating limitations before relying on a system.
For a used ProMaster, ask a qualified technician to inspect the drivetrain, brakes, tires, fluid leaks, door operation and electrical additions. Review the maintenance records and check for unresolved recalls. A model's factory specification does not certify the condition of a particular used example.
