Business owners sometimes use Section 179 and bonus depreciation as if they were the same rule. They are separate provisions. IRS Publication 946 describes 100% special depreciation for certain qualifying property acquired and placed in service after January 19, 2025. Eligibility still depends on the property, acquisition, use, and other requirements.
Evaluate the real transaction
Give your tax professional the Ram's purchase agreement, VIN, equipment information, planned business use, and service date. If a body or specialty conversion is included, supply those documents too. Ask how rebates, trade-in transactions, and additional costs affect the amount being depreciated.
Check limitations and elections
Passenger-vehicle rules, business-use requirements, and other restrictions can change the deduction. Your adviser should also explain the available elections and any difference between federal and state treatment. A headline describing 100% depreciation is not a promise that every buyer can immediately deduct an entire truck purchase.
Keep the business case visible
Compare the vehicle's ability to do the job, expected operating cost, financing obligation, and replacement horizon. Tax savings should be evaluated alongside those cash requirements. Seth Wadley CDJR of Pauls Valley can provide vehicle specifications, current written pricing, and expected delivery information. Your adviser can use those facts to evaluate a purchase that serves the business rather than one driven only by a tax headline.

Does 100% bonus depreciation mean every Ram purchase is fully deductible?
No. The provision applies to qualifying property and transactions, with requirements involving acquisition, service timing, business use and other limits. Ask your adviser to evaluate the completed vehicle, incentives, equipment and available elections, including state treatment. A tax headline should not replace checking the actual purchase or deciding whether the truck serves a productive business role.
